Recently State President of BJP Maharashtra Mahila Morcha Chitra Wagh, has filed a police complaint against the television actress for 'indulging in nudity on the streets of Mumbai after which Urfi filed a complaint against the Politician for threatening her.
After Urfi’s complaint Maharashtra Women's Commission Chief Rupali Chakankar on Tuesday wrote to the Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar to take appropriate action over the complaint of the actress. Sharing the letter wrote of Urfi’s complaint she wrote, "Maharashtra State Commission for Women has received the complaint application of Urfi Javed. In this the applicant states, I am working in the fashion industry related to cinema, my living conditions and appearance are professionally necessary."

Urfi in her complaint states, "Be it for political gain or personal publicity, Wagh's threat hints I may be attacked. It creates an unsafe environment for me and I cannot move freely. The right of free movement is given to every Indian by the constitution, feeling unsafe in a city like Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra, is a serious matter. Therefore, I urge Mumbai Police Commissioner take immediate action on the application." The letter further read, "A report should be submitted immediately as per Section 12 (2) and 12 (3) of the Maharashtra State Commission for Women Act, 1993 regarding the action taken."
Earlier Mahila Morcha Chitra Wagh has filed a police complaint. She said, "In Maharashtra, we will not tolerate this nanga naach. This is not a matter of religion, this is a matter of public nudity in the state of Chhatrapti Shivaji Maharaj, a king who respected women. Will Savitribai Phule, who fought for the rights of women, appreciate these acts? Everyone is saying who are we to tell people or question them what to wear, but first wear clothes and then question us."
