Famous actress Urmila Matondkar, who made her Bollywood debut as a child artist in 1983 with the movie 'Masoom,' has given many hit movies to the movie industry. However, the film Rangeela has given her recognition, hardly any other movie of her career has given her the same. However, Urmila still complains that she has not been able to get the credit for this movie so far. In a recent interview, the actress referred to the movie and revealed that what she did in the movie was 'Sex Appeal' has nothing to do with acting.

Recalling her days of struggle, Urmila Matondkar has said, "I struggled a lot. I have never taken my picture from a producer's office. My family had not even been remotely connected to any movie industry. I belong to a simple middle-class family. But what has to happen remains. I got the role in 'Narshimaha' because the actress who was signed for that movie had fractured. And the climax was to be shot with 500 junior artists. And I also had to dance and sing. I didn't even take any training for dancing. But I was denied even before I performed. I didn't have a famous surname anymore. In the 1990s, the media was also very cruel. They're writing anything about me. And that went on for about four years. But when 'Rangeela' came, it calmed down.

Referring to Rangeela, Urmila has said that she did not get credit for that movie either. After 'Rangeela'  people have said that what I did was 'Sex Appeal' she had nothing to do with acting. And if that was the case then how could the song 'Haay Rama' be without an artiste? Are only emotional scenes acting? Looking sexy is also the demand for acting. My character changed through every song in the movie. But the critics didn't understand. Someday I'm probably going to like to name them all what they called me. Despite giving such a big hit, the awards have been forgotten. Not a good word was written about me. My clothes, my hair, that means everyone got credit, but not me.

Urmila further said 'The girl who gave 13 flops, which was said to be like a boy and does double meaning songs with the hero, is made an actor-configured. But for me being ahead of the camera was a spiritual experience. Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle's song was a victory for me. I didn't need awards.'
