US corona cases surpass 19 million mark

Washington: Coronavirus is wreaking havoc all around the world. The US is the worst-hit nation. Now, according to the Johns Hopkins University the nation has reached yet another grim milestone as its overall corona caseload on Monday has surpassed the 19 million mark.

The University's Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) revealed that the US  infection tally and the death toll currently stood at 19,129,368 and 333,110, respectively. nThe hardest-hit country makes up more than 23 per cent of the global caseload. With most cases, 2,123,163, California became the first US state to surpass the 2 million caseload mark. Texas reported 1,668,263 cases, followed by Florida with 1,264,588 cases.

According to Johns Hopkins University, The overall number of global coronavirus cases has topped 80.7 million, while the deaths have surged to more than 1.76 million. Global caseload and death toll stood at 80,751,164 and 1,764,215, respectively.The US is the worst-hit country with the world's highest number of cases and deaths at 19,129,368 and 333,110, respectively. India comes in second place in terms of cases at 10,187,850, while the country's death toll soared to 147,622.
