LIVERPOOL: At the 51st Artistic Gymnastics World Championships on Tuesday, the US women's team won their sixth straight global team championship.

Along with the British and Canadian teams, who placed second and third, respectively, the American team has also ensured its place in the competition at the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024.

"just going day by day in the gym. We can all accomplish great things and more "added American Shilese Jones, a first-time world champion who also qualified for the all-around and uneven bars finals. "I'm quite proud, and I know we can accomplish something significant in 2024."  China, whose athletes have been battling to rediscover their form throughout the preparation, finished sixth with 157.529 points, maintaining their position from the qualification.

Coach Wang Liming said, "We didn't play well from the start, and the girls were anxious throughout the final." "We didn't prepare well, and the girls' level of fitness isn't very high." The United States were strong favourites to win the team competition even without the famous Simone Biles and the Olympic all-around winner Sunisa Lee.

The American girls, led by floor exercise Olympic champion Jade Carey, earned 167.263 points during Saturday's qualification, and no team was able to surpass that total following Sunday's competition.

The U.S. team started their competition in the final on Tuesday with the vault and earned 43.133 points, the most of any event from any of the eight teams that evening.

The runners-up from the Tokyo Olympics scored 166.564 points overall, 3.201 points more than the hosts Great Britain, who won the women's team event at the World Championships with their best-ever results. In third place with 160.563 points was Canada.

More Olympic spots will be reserved in that competition thanks to the eight teams that advanced to the final and qualified for the World Championships of the following year.

"The majority of our team's athletes have recently participated in a number of major competitions. Although we would like to see them continue in their careers for as long as possible, the team also needs fresh faces. They'll be more capable and increase the group's motivation "said Wang, adding that China needs new faces for major competitions.
