Lucknow: A case of selling chicken biryani with a banner of 'Jain Shikanji' outside a Jain temple in Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh has come to light. When Jain Shadlu protested against it, they were assaulted by the accused and tried to set their bus on fire. The incident took place in Badagaon under the Khekada police station in Baghpat district.

They started pelting stones and came in huge numbers with lathi and even tried to ignite the Bus carrying all the pilgrims.

Some Jain pilgrims from Baraut had come to the Jain temple at Badagaon. When the devotees returned at night, they protested against the sale of chicken biryani outside the temple. Reports said that when the Jain community members protested, the wheelbarrow called a dozen of his colleagues and pelted stones at the bus of the devotees. The accused had sticks and sticks in their hands and also tried to set the bus on fire.
Inspector NS Sirohi said that the case is under investigation and 4 persons have been arrested so far. According to reports, a case has been registered against six accused Sharafat, Sonu, Shahzad, Arshad, Nadeem, and Naushad. All these accused have been booked under sections 147, 148, 149, 295-A, 323, 336, 307, 427, 436, and 511 of the IPC. A function was held at Parshvanath temple on Sunday where many devotees had arrived. At around 8 pm, a man was found selling chicken biryani in front of the temple with a banner of Jain Shikanji. Later, when the Jain pilgrims protested, the biryani seller along with his colleagues attacked the Jain devotees.
