Power crisis deepens in country, 8 special trains of UP cancelled for coal supply

Lucknow: Several states, including Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, are facing a power crisis due to severe heat and coal shortages. Meanwhile, the Railway Board has cancelled eight express trains to help maintain power supply in UP. In fact, these trains were cancelled so that the coal-laden goods trains being supplied to thermal power stations could be easily routed and the coal could reach on time. 

These trains were cancelled:-

- Lucknow-Meerut Express (22453)
- Prayagraj Sangam-Bareilly Express(14307)
- Bareilly-Prayagraj Sangam Express(14308)
- Roza-Bareilly Express (04379)
- Moradabad-Kathgodam Express (05332).
- Meerut-Lucknow Express (22454)
- Bareilly-Roza Express (04380) and included
- Kathgodam-Moradabad Express (05331).

At the same time, in Rajasthan, the government has decided to cut power for 3 hours. According to the information, the railway board has taken this decision after consideration from the UP government, as the demand for electricity in the state is continuously increasing due to rising temperatures. Due to this, the Northern Railway took this decision. According to information, the express trains which have been cancelled include 8 trains including Lucknow-Meerut Express (22453), and Prayagraj Sangam-Bareilly Express (14307).
