Kasganj: Kasganj police, who are investigating the death in police custody at Jagdishpura in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, have themselves been embroiled in a similar case. A youth died in police custody on Tuesday. Police said, the youth hanged himself in the toilet of the jail while the youth's father is accusing the police of murder. The Superintendent of Police has since suspended five policemen, including the inspector.

Altaf's son Chand Mian, 22, a resident of an Ahrauli village in Sadar police station, was taken into custody by the police in connection with the stalking of a teenager belonging to another sect. SP Botre Rohan Pramod said that Altaf hanged himself in the toilet of jail on Tuesday evening by hanging himself from the pipe of the hood of his jacket. He was taken to a community health center where doctors declared him brought dead. A large number of villagers along with their family members reached Kotwali in the evening on the information of the death. Altaf's father says police had brought his son to the Nadrai Gate outpost for questioning at 8 pm on Monday suspecting that the girl had been taken away. When I reached the outpost, I was driven away. I have since come to know about Altaf committing suicide on Tuesday evening. It was the police who strangled the son to death.

Altaf was accused of driving away from the teenager. A case has been registered against him under Section 363, 366 at Sadar police station. The police had brought it for questioning this morning. He tied the cord in the jacket, cap to the toilet pipe and hanged himself. Five policemen have been suspended in the case.
