Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Assembly is all set to create history today i.e. on Thursday (September 22). Thursday has been reserved for women in the Assembly. That is, today women MLAs of Uttar Pradesh will be able to speak on issues related to women throughout the day in the House.

Speaker Satish Mahana informed the House that the decision to reserve September 22 for women members was taken at a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee of the House on September 19. He said women MLAs will be allowed to speak during question hour. Giving information, Satish Mahana has informed that CM Yogi Adityanath will also be present in the House to listen to the issues of women.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna has requested the Speaker to make the staff of the UP Assembly a woman on Thursday. At the same time, Suresh Khanna said in a lighter vein that the press covering the proceedings of the House should also be women. Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana has also requested the members to present their case in a polite and parliamentary manner and the debate should be held in a conducive atmosphere.
