Lucknow: Congress state unit president Ajay Kumar Lallu was demanded to resign following the humiliating defeat in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. This happened under the direction of the high command, but today almost 3 months have passed and the state unit is working without any head. Now, the Congress leaders of the state are afraid of election preparations. There is news that they are not able to reach out to the party leadership and have their say.

According to media reports, many party leaders were expecting to get a new president before the Chintan Shivir, but that could not happen. The result was that the UP Congress could not get a strong representation in the Manthan camp held in Udaipur. After this, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's visit raised the hope of Congress leaders. However, there was a disappointment during that time as well. According to the report, Priyanka tried to boost the morale of the party and said that now more hard work should be started. But the pending appointment of the UPCC chief has added to the problems.

A senior Congress leader said, "Priyanka is suffering from corona and everyone knows that the decision has to be taken by her, as she is in charge of the state Congress. But when other parties have started preparations for the upcoming body elections and even the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, we don't even have the president of the state unit. We fear that we will fall behind in the race in an attempt to make better arrangements to rebuild the party in UP.''
