Lucknow: To make traffic rules more stringent in Uttar Pradesh, the state DGP OP Singh has written a letter to all policemen. In this letter, OP Singh said that if a police officer breaks traffic rules, then strict action should be taken against him and double penalty amount should be recovered.

This letter has been sent by DGP to all senior superintendents of police and superintendents of police. Recently, under the Motor Vehicle Act, new rates of fine have been set in the states with strictness, in which the provision of several times more fine has been made for breaking traffic rules.

Now DGP OP Singh has written a letter directing his subordinates. It said that if a policeman is found to be breaking the rules, he will have to pay double the fine. So that a message goes to the public and the police also think hundred times before breaking the motor vehicle law.

Under this initiative, 51 police personnel were found to be breaking traffic rules in the entire Meerut city, whose challans were made.
