Lucknow: In a major action, the Uttar Pradesh Electricity Department has cut off the electricity connection of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati's Kothi. Along with this, the electricity department has also sent a notice of power dues at Kothi situated at Badlapur in Greater Noida. According to media reports, the house in Mayawati's ancestral village had an electricity bill of 67 thousand left. However, a bill of 50 thousand was submitted immediately, after which the department immediately added the connection back.

This connection is in the name of Anand Kumar, brother of the former CM. In the case, Executive Engineer Power Distribution Division Krishna Kumar has said that a connection of 10 kW is with us in the name of Anand Kumar. The bill was owed on this connection, to which the notice was sent. Payment has been made on this notice this morning. On cutting the connection, the Executive Engineer said that it is our endeavor and we appeal that consumers pay the bills on time.

He said that as per normal procedure, the office gives notice to the consumer for not submitting the bill at the time of the consumer. After that, the connection is cut.
