Lucknow: Chaudhary Bashir, a minister in the previous government of Uttar Pradesh, has been booked by his wife Nagma. Nagma says that on July 23, 2021, she found out that Chaudhary was going to get the sixth nikah from a girl named Bashir, Shaista. Nagma Chaudhary approached Bashir when he got wind of this. Nagma says Chaudhary Bashir assaulted her during this time and divorced her and threw her out of the house. In a case registered at Mantola police station in Agra, Chaudhary Bashir has been booked under Section 3 of the Protection of Rights on Muslim Women's Marriage Act, 2019 and Section 504 of the IPC.
Nagma is the third begum of former minister Chaudhary Bashir to file a case. According to Nagma, he was married to former minister Chaudhary Bashir on November 11, 2012. Nagma and Chaudhary Bashir have two sons. Nagma alleges that her husband and sister-in-law had started physically and mentally harassing her since marriage. Fed up, Nagma took legal action. The case is pending in court. Mantola police have registered a case against Chaudhary Bashir on Nagma's complaint. Police are investigating the case. Several criminal cases have already been registered against former minister Chaudhary Bashir.
Former minister Bashir Chaudhary's begum posted a video of herself on social media. In the viral video, the former minister's wife narrated her ordeal and sought help from police officials. Nagma says I have been harassed since 2013, that man is not havan, he has ruined the lives of many women before me. Former minister Bashir Chaudhary has not taken a stand in the matter. A triple talaq case has been registered against former minister Bashir Chaudhary on the orders of the SSP.
