Lucknow: A proposal is being sent to the government to make high-tech to the jail in several districts of Uttar Pradesh. The project will mention several points to make the jail high-tech on the lines of Tihar. Many new technologies will be used to make prisons high-tech. In the first phase, five jails in Uttar Pradesh have been selected. The jail department has a budget of Rs 13 crore to hi-tech these jails.
In fact, this is seen as a drastic step in view of the persistent question of security and loopholes in Uttar Pradesh jails. DG Jail Anand Kumar said that the department has a budget of Rs 13 crore to hi-tech these jails. A proposal is being made, which will be transmitted to the government and changes will begin after approval from the government. In the first phase we have selected 5 jails which are located at four corners of Uttar Pradesh. One is Lucknow at the centre and the rest is in the East West North South.
Radio stations have also been introduced to remove the negative mindset in the jail. whose operation is being carried out entirely by prison inmates. These radio stations have been launched at Mainpuri, Agra, Etah, Bijnore, Ghaziabad, Noida, Gorakhpur Jail.
