Kanpur: A woman accused her father-in-law of rape in Akbarpur in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The woman has filed a complaint at the police station and filed a case. Giving information about the case, Kotwal Dharmendra Singh said that a case has been registered under the sections of rape and threats on father-in-law and dowry harassment on husband and other in-laws.
The woman has stated in her complaint that on March 1, 2017 she was married to Rakesh son Sushant Shukla of Kanpur. It is alleged that since marriage, husband and in-laws started harassing her for dowry. The victim's husband worked as a makeup artist in a beauty parlor in Kidwai Nagar, Kanpur. To open her own parlor, the husband pressurized the victim to get Rs 10 lakh from her maternal uncle.
The woman has told that on August 19, her mother-in-law had gone to the temple. Finding her alone in the house, the father-in-law raped her. When she protested, the father-in-law threatened to defame her and get his brother killed. Because of the panic, she kept quiet and did not say anything to anyone. She later moved to Ghaziabad with her husband, where she was also beaten up. The woman alleges that the husband used to force her to have physical relations with other men. Stricken by the harassment of her husband and in-laws, the woman came to her maternal home, after which she lodged a police complaint.
