Lucknow: A case of shackles placed on the feet of students in a Madarsa in Uttar Pradesh's capital Lucknow has come to light. The allegation has been made by two students who somehow escaped from the Madarsa and reached their village. According to him, students are also beaten up with batons in Madarsas. Lucknow Police has taken cognizance of the matter and asked for action. According to the report, however, it is being told that the families of the victim students have refused to give any written complaint against those who taught in the Madarsa.

The incident is being reported on Friday (May 27, 2022). In the viral video of the incident, a student seen as a minor has shackles on both his legs. He is sitting on top of the gravel on the ground. The shackles are tied to the locks. There are many people around him as well. The case pertains to The Suffamdinul Ulama Madarsa located in the Shivlar area of the Gosainganj police station area. It is being told that the children have been studying in that Madarsa for about two and a half years.

According to media reports, Raju of Jarmamau in Barabanki and Shahbaz of Raniamau in Lucknow study in The Suffamdinul Ulama Madarsa. On getting the opportunity, both of them fled from the Madarsa. Both of them were crying in a nearby village, due to which the villagers gathered there. The two informed the villagers about the atrocities committed with them in the Madarsa. There were also marks of beating with canes on his body. He told the villagers to be beaten up by the teachers of the Madarsa. In the meantime, the matter came to the notice of the police. However, no complaint has been given so far, police say action will be taken if they receive the complaint.
