Mathura: In Uttar Pradesh, a woman died in a hospital late last night after four youths failed to rape her on Friday in Thana Barsana area of Mathura district. The woman's husband has accused four people in the village. The woman's husband told the police that when he went to Satsang on Friday, four people from the village entered his house and tried to rape his wife.

Police said the accused gave the woman some poisonous substance when she protested and that his wife had told him about it before she died. He is alleged to have made a video of the rape attempt to blackmail her later. Quoting her husband, police said, the accused killed the woman by poisoning her when she protested.

Police said, the police are investigating the case on the husband's complaint and said the woman had consumed the poison herself. Superintendent of Police (Rural) Aditya Prakash Shukla says that the husband's complaint has been received. The body of the 40-year-old woman has been post-mortemed. The official said, according to what is being revealed now, the woman has died due to poisoning and the entire case is under investigation. He said strict action will be taken against anyone found guilty.
