Lucknow: An encounter broke out with members of a gang involved in looting and cheating in Uttar Pradesh's Gorakhpur. Four criminals were injured in the encounter. Gorakhpur police said, "This is a very big gang, recently the same gang had looted lakhs of rupees in Kaudiram and Campierganj and in Barhalganj and Khalilabad, more information is being done."
Gorakhpur police have informed that the inspector-in-charge of Thana Cantt at Mohdipur intersection was patrolling on Thursday night when four persons on two bikes were speeding, they tried to stop when the suspects were killed, on which they did not stop and started running away, firing at the police force from the police force. The Gorakhpur police claimed, "In retaliation by the police force, the four accused were injured, who are currently undergoing treatment at BRD Medical College, whose condition is normal. Gorakhpur police have recovered a glac pistol 9mm, a country-made pistol 9mm, a 315 bore gun, Rs 55,000 in cash and two bikes (one Pulsar and a Honda Shine) from the possession of the four. Police suspect that the bike may also have been stolen, which is also being investigated.
