6 arrested, including groom, for cutting cow to give 'feast of marriage'

Rampur: Police raided on the information of cow slaughter at a marriage party in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh. Police seized more than 100kg of cow meat from the spot. Six persons including the groom have been arrested in the case. The marriage was also canceled after the groom got arrested. The Police have registered a case against all in the serious case of cow slaughtering and sent them to jail. According to police, the case has been registered against all under the Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act. The accused have been sent to jail after appearing in court.

The case is of Lalpur Kalan village of Thana Tanda. The Police had come to know that cow's meat was being made in the house for the feast of a marriage. As soon as the information was received, the post-charge Police team reached Lalpur Kalan village and Raided the wedding house. Due to the sudden arrival of the police, the wedding house stirred up. The Police also seized more than 100kg of beef and cutting equipment from the spot. The Police took action in the case and six family members including groom Yasin, Abdul Salam, Babu Haji, Mohammad Rafi, Bhoora, Mohammad Islam, and Mohammad Yasin were arrested.

Police said the case has been registered against all under the Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act. The accused have been sent to jail after appearing in court. According to the Police, the case has been registered under the MoU No.-52 / 2021 Section 3/5/8 of the Prevention of Cow slaughter Act.
