Lucknow: A case of rape of a 6-year-old innocent girl at a mosque in Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh has come to light. The police have arrested a Maulana for raping the girl. According to the complaint, the accused is a cleric in Owais Mosque and the victim used to go to the maulvi to study Islam. However, the maulvi's intentions were spoiled and he made the innocent girl a victim of his lust.
According to the report, the incident took place at a mosque in the Sambhal police station area. The mother of the 6-year-old girl has complained to the police that the cleric of the mosque took her daughter to a separate room near the mosque and raped the girl there. In the complaint, it has been said that the child reached home and told her mother about the whole story. She said the maulvi has done dirty work with her.
After the girl's complaint, when the victim's family approached the imam of the mosque with a complaint about the matter, he also threatened to kill the victim along with the family. The victim's mother then pleaded with the police. A case has been registered under Section 376 of the IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) and the accused has been arrested. Sambhal CO Jitendra Kumar confirmed the complaint and said that the statement of the victim in the case has been recorded and she has been sent for medical examination.
