Lucknow: A woman was allegedly raped inside her house in Uttar Pradesh's Moradabad district, police said on Sunday. A woman was allegedly raped by an accused in a house in the Majhola police station area of the district on the pretext of repairing a fridge. The police arrested the accused on Monday (December 5).

SHO Dhananjay Singh of Majhola police station has informed that one of the victims had given a complaint that the accused Asif alias Rihan, a resident of Sirkoi Bhur, used to come to her house earlier also. The accused works to repair electronic devices. On December 3, the accused Asif came to her house to repair the fridge. The victim was alone in the house at that time. It is alleged that after getting the opportunity, the accused raped the victim and fled, after which the victim reached the police station and lodged a complaint.

Inspector Dhananjay Singh said that on the basis of the complaint, a case of rape was registered against the accused on Sunday and Asif alias Rihan was arrested on Monday.
