Lucknow: A shocking case of love jihad has come to light from the Katghar police station area of the Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh. A Muslim man named Sameer Raza created a fake ID named Shyam on the social media platform Snapchat. After this, he trapped a Hindu girl of the area and tried to forcibly convert her to Islam. According to the report, Sameer Raza started chatting with the Hindu girl after befriending her under a fake name. Meanwhile, he asked the girl for some pictures.
He started blackmailing the victim by threatening to show the screenshot of these pictures to the family. The accused was not only pressurizing the student to convert and marry but also took Rs 2000 from the victim. The victim is a class 12 student. Her father informed the police that some time ago, a message named Shyam came on the social media app Snapchat on the daughter's mobile. He chatted and trapped the student in his words. During the chat, the accused Sameer Raza told his name as Lucky.
During this time, the accused Sameer also took her mobile number from the victim. Then he started calling and talking to the victim. On November 16, 2022, the accused Muslim youth called the victim to meet him at a cafe. During the conversation there, the victim came to know that the person who spoke to her, Sameer Raza, was a Muslim. After the reality came to light, the accused Sameer started pressuring the victim to marry. It is alleged that when the student refused, the accused blackmailed her by showing screenshots and photos of the chat. He has threatened to show the screenshot and pictures of the chat to her family if she does not listen to him. In return for not doing so, he also extorted Rs 2,000 from the victim.
According to the report, Sameer Raza started demanding more money from the girl. Seeing the matter getting out of hand, the girl showed understanding. She told the whole thing to her family. After this, the family members called the accused on the pretext of giving money and caught him. He was later handed over to the police. Katghar police station in-charge Manish Saxena has informed that a case of blackmailing and threatening has been registered against the accused Sameer Raza, a resident of a village in Bilari tehsil. The accused, Sameer Raza, has been sent to jail after being produced in court.
