Amritsar: A UP police team has left Ropar for Banda with Former Uttar Pradesh Bahubali MLA Mukhtar Ansari, who is lodged in Ropar jail in Punjab. The team has left for Banda jail in UP with Mukhtar in an ambulance. The ambulances are being followed by a tight security guard by the UP police. A convoy of about 10 trains has left for Banda, which has 150 policemen on board.
Earlier, the Ropar jail administration has handed over the custody of Mukhtar Ansari to the UP police after a medical test. A team of five doctors conducted a medical examination of Mukhtar. Meanwhile, Ropar SSP Akhil Chaudhary said that no Punjab Police team or commando is accompanying Mukhtar Ansari's convoy. The entire operation will be led by the UP police. The Ropar police in Punjab are only looking at law and order around and outside the jail.
52 cases have been registered against Mukhtar Ansari in Uttar Pradesh. Tight security arrangements have been made on all routes between Ropar and Banda. From which route will Mukhtar be taken to Banda? It has been kept confidential for security reasons, but it is believed to be using the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, Yamuna Expressway, and Taj Express from Haryana.
