Lucknow: Haji Yakub Qureshi, former minister of Uttar Pradesh and stalwart leader of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), seems to be coming to an end. In fact, the UP Police is taking action on the illegal properties of Qureshi, whose influence once used to speak in entire western Uttar Pradesh. For the second time under the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath, the BJP government has started tightening the noose on Yakub Qureshi. On Wednesday (6 April 2022), the administration has sealed My City Hospital located on Hapur Road, Meerut, Qureshi.

Dr Sudhir Kumar, who was involved in the operation along with deputy CMO Javed Hussain, has informed that Qureshi's hospital was running without registration. Meerut district CMO Dr Akhilesh Mohan said that the registration of this hospital had not been renewed since 2019. Notices were also issued to the hospital several times. But even after sending repeated notices, there was no response. That is why action has been taken. It is being told that this hospital was being run in the name of Jacob Education Charitable Trust. During the operation, it also came to light that the hospital was given to another person to run on the lease. Without registration, the hospital cannot be given on lease to another.

After Qureshi's hospital, his meat factory Al Fahim Meatex Private Limited can also be taken action by the UP Police. According to Meerut Development Authority (MDA) vice-chairman Mridul Chaudhary, the meat factory land-use change application has already been rejected by the government. Qureshi's factory is built on 13 hectares, of which 10 hectares of land is government. Along with this, one hectare of land is for the green belt and 0.234 hectares of land is for road widening. Out of this, only 0.130 hectares of land is for industrial use. Following this, Qureshi has filed a petition in the Supreme Court. It is being said that demolition proceedings will be taken after taking an opinion in the ongoing case in the apex court in this case.

The MDA had raided the factory on March 31 and sealed it for packaging meat in the factory without permission. During this time, 31 tonnes of meat were seized from there. Since this action, Haji Yakub has absconded along with the family. On Tuesday (April 5), several places were raided to arrest the absconding Jacob, but he could not find his hand. Police are gathering information about his whereabouts.
