Two brothers who went to bathe in Chandauli's Latif Shah Dam drowned

Lucknow: Two youths have tragically died when they drowned in Latif Shah Dam in Chandauli district of eastern Uttar Pradesh. While two others narrowly escaped drowning. The two youths who lost their lives in the accident were cousins and residents of Faridabad in Haryana.  Azad Khan and Mehtab Khan, residents of NIC Colony in Faridabad, Haryana, reportedly came with their family members to their relatives in Pagia village under Karama police station area of Sonbhadra.

It was from here that they reached Latif Shah Dam for a picnic, where the two youths went inside the dam for a bath. Taking a bath, Azad and Mehtab went into the deep water of the dam and started drowning. The other two young men who were bathing with them somehow came out and started shouting. But by the time others reached the spot. By then Azad Khan and Mehtab Khan had been submerged in deepwater of the dam.

Police from Chakia Kotwali also rushed to the spot as soon as the incident was reported. The bodies of the two brothers were fished out of the dam by divers after much effort. Which were later sent by the police for postmortem.
