Lucknow: Heavy rains are expected in many areas of central India in the last few days. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), active monsoon conditions will continue over the central parts of India during the next five days. However, light rain is expected in many areas of Uttar Pradesh in the next two to three days. The monsoon trough is active and lies more south than normal. It is likely to be active in the coming days.

According to IMD's weather bulletin, very heavy rains may also occur in various areas in UP. The state is expected to receive rainfall till August 15. There is a possibility of scattered and heavy rain and thundershowers in many places. Very heavy rainfall is expected in some areas in eastern UP on Monday. The Meteorological Department has issued a 'yellow alert' for heavy rains with thunder and lightning in many parts.

According to the Meteorological Department, very heavy rainfall occurred at some places in Lucknow and Prayagraj districts, as well as heavy rains, were recorded in Gorakhpur, Kanpur, Meerut and Bareilly districts. Light rain to moderate rain may be seen for the next one week. However, there may be heavy rains in some areas. According to the Meteorological Department's forecast, the weather will provide relief from the heat before Independence Day. At the same time, on August 15, there may be pleasant weather with light rain or less heat.
