Lucknow: The yogi government has transferred 21 jail officers and 15 IAS officers to the state after a video of a prisoner waving a pistol went viral on social media. Director General Kargar (DG Jail) Anand Kumar has said that there are several cases of transfer operations that have been completed in one jail and some of which have been transferred on administrative grounds.

Central and District Jails where jailers have been changed include Central Jail Agra, Naini, Bareilly, District Jail Fatehpur, Kheri, Pratapgarh, Sultanpur, Shahjahanpur, Bijnore, Mainpuri, Aligarh, Basti, Moradabad, Ambedkarnagar, Fatehgarh, Ballia, Agra, Sonbhadra, Ghazipur and Bareilly Jail contains. Two jailers of Central Jail Naini have been removed. However, no Unnao district jail official has been mentioned in the transfer list. According to sources, a proposal has also been sent to the Home Department to transfer the prisoners to another jail.

In Unnao, departmental action has been initiated against four jail officials on the basis of laxity in work. A show cause notice has been sent to the jail superintendent and jailer. Inmates with firearms will also be shifted to other jails. Meanwhile, the Yogi government also transferred 15 IAS officers late Thursday night.
