Lucknow: The Yogi Adityanath government's major action has been seen in the case of installing two toilet seats adjacent to the community toilet in Uttar Pradesh. Neeraj, the then gram panchayat secretary of Gauradhunda village (Basti district), and Poonam Srivastava, the current secretary, have been suspended in connection with the case. Also, on the instructions of the District Magistrate (DM), a show-cause notice has also been issued to the former head and the current head. Along with this, the Chief Development Officer (CDO) has also recommended departmental action against JE Minor Irrigation.

On the recommendation of District Panchayati Raj Officer (DPRO) Namita Sharan, the District Development Officer (DDO) has taken this action against the negligent. In fact, the then secretary Neeraj and Pradhan together did this feat in the construction of toilets. No walls were made between the seats nor a door was installed in the toilet. At the same time, now after the instructions of the officials, repair work has been started in the toilet. The incident took place in Gauradhunda village in the Koodraha block of Basti district. In the village, the secretary and the principal had built a community toilet at a cost of Rs 10 lakh, but to date, no one has been able to use this community toilet. The reason for this is that toilets were built, but there were no doors. Along with this, two toilet seats were installed in the same toilet.

District Panchayati Raj Officer Namrata Sharan had sent a notice to the then and current secretary. Now the action has been taken against both government employees. With this, the investigation of the case is going on. The district Panchayati Raj officer said she had personally gone to the spot to check and was surprised to see the condition of the community toilet. Samajwadi Party (SP) national president and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav also shared a picture of this toilet built in Basti district on Twitter and mocked the BJP government's 'double engine' slogan.
