Dehradun: Uttarakhand Police have arrested a Bangladeshi woman from the capital Dehradun. This woman was living illegally in the holy city of Rishikesh for the last 11 years. Not only this, but the woman had also bought a house in Rishikesh and she had also got the Indian voter ID card and Aadhar card made. In fact, the Pushkar Singh Dhami government of the state has started the work of searching for foreign nationals staying illegally in different parts of the state. For this, the Dhami government has also alerted its intelligence department in various districts.

Actually, to do this, all the states have been given this guideline by the Union Home Ministry. State governments have been asked to identify foreign nationals overstaying here and send them back. Under this direction, the intelligence department of the state government engaged in the identification of illegal migrants has arrested the woman. The Intelligence Department came to know that a Bangladeshi woman was living illegally for several years in Awas Vikas Colony, Rishikesh. On receiving this information, the police reached the house of Sonia Chaudhary (40 years) wife of Bavla Chaudhary district Dehradun and investigated. 

According to the police, Sonia Chaudhary is originally a resident of village Khandakia, Post Yunus Nagar, Thana Hazari, District Chittagong, Bangladesh. The woman had bought a house here in the year 2016 and got its registry done. The woman had also illegally got an Indian passport, voter card and Aadhar card made. The investigation also revealed that the woman also holds a Bangladesh passport, the validity of which expired on December 25, 2014. At the same time, the validity of his visa also expired on 18 September 2011. Uttarakhand Police has registered a case against the woman in the police station Rishikesh under sections 419, 420, 467, 468, 471, 120B of the IPC and section 14 of the Foreigners Act and section 12 of the Passport Act.
