Dehradun: The government has given finance and administrative permission for the construction of 300-bed women and cancer hospital at Harrawala in Dehradun city of Uttarakhand. The construction of this hospital to be built at a cost of about 106 crores will cost Rs 10 crores for the first phase.

An order for administrative and finance permission has been issued on behalf of Secretary Health Amit Singh Negi. In Harrawala, donated by Jeevan Jyoti Hospital Trust to the Health Department, 300-bed Shakuntala Rani Sardari Mahila and Cancer Hospital will be constructed.

According to the order, funds will be released by the National Health Mission Director to the executing organization based on the progress of construction. Hospital work will be completed in 18 months. An Executive Engineer will be nominated by the Director-General of Health who will take care of daily work. Under the Rishikesh-Karnprayag railway project, the Railways has constructed a 52-bed hospital in Srinagar using its CSR fund. This hospital will soon be available to the health department. Along with this, the state will also get a stadium of one thousand seat capacity in Srikot. Cooperative Minister Dhan Singh Rawat told that this stadium will be full of modern arrangements, due to the review of compensation being given under the railway project in the office of the Assembly on Tuesday.
