V-Mart Retail, which sells fashion and lifestyle products, is about to open 60 new stores across the country. This will bring its total number of stores to 275. The company will invest Rs 115 crore in its expansion, which will provide jobs to 2000 people. V-Mart stores are in second and third-tier cities.
The company intends to increase the private label's share in total sales from 70 to 75 percent. V-Mart Retail Chairman and Managing Director Lalit Aggarwal said, "We have to add 60 stores to our network in the current financial year. This will bring the total number of our stores to 275. ' He said that we will appoint 2,000 people this financial year.
The company currently has a staff strength of 7,000. V-Mart has so far opened 20 new stores in the current financial year. It currently has 233 stores in total. The company intends to open new stores in Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha and Northeast states as well as Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. It is expected that this will create some excitement in the job market.
