Vaikunth Chaturdashi is a special day called holy as it is dedicated to Lord Narayan and Mahadev. It is celebrated on the 14th Lunar Day of Shukla Paksha (waxing moon fortnight) of Kartik month of Hindu lunisolar calendar. The day is popularly celebrated in Varanasi, Rishikesh, Gaya and Maharashtra.

Vaikunth Chaturdashi 2021: Rituals and Festivals:-
– This festival is celebrated by taking a dip in the holy river and is called Kartik Snan.
– Deep Dan Mahotsav is celebrated in Rishikesh. This moment after Chaturmas symbolizes Narayan's awakening. Thousands of small lamps made of flour or earthen lamps are lit on the holy river Ganga. Ganga Aarti is also performed.
– Devotees offer 1,000 lotus to Narayan with the recitation of Vishnu Sahasranama.
– Narayan is especially respected at Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi. Both the deities Mahadev and Narayan are duly worshipped as they worship each other.
– The leaves of Tulsi dear to Narayan are offered to Mahadev and to Vishnu, the leaves of the Bel Patra dear to Mahadev.
– Gangajal, Akshat, Sandalwood, Flowers and Camphor etc. are offered.
– Aarti is performed by lighting a lamp.
– Fasting is observed throughout the day.
– In some other temples also, this festival is celebrated in its traditional ways.
