THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:  The eagerly anticipated second Vande Bharat train designated for Kerala has made its grand entrance into Thiruvananthapuram. This morning, at precisely 4:30 AM, the train majestically pulled into the Kochuveli railway station. Following a rigorous trial run, the inaugural voyage of this impressive Vande Bharat service will commence from Kasaragod on the upcoming Sunday.

In a notable departure from expectations, this Vande Bharat service for Kerala departed from Chennai Central yesterday afternoon. Kerala was bestowed with a unique version of the train, sporting a novel color scheme and an altered design, distinctly different from the conventional white and blue livery seen on other Vande Bharat trains. In total, this distinctive train boasts eight coaches.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to ceremoniously inaugurate nine Vande Bharat services across various routes throughout the country via a momentous video conferencing event this Sunday. It is anticipated that the commercial passenger services, complete with booked tickets, will kick off either on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the comprehensive timetable for the second Vande Bharat service has been finalized. The journey will span from Kasargod to Thiruvananthapuram, encompassing Alappuzha on its route. The train will commence its voyage from Kasaragod at the break of dawn, departing at 7:00 AM, and reach its destination in Thiruvananthapuram by 3:05 PM. The return journey from Thiruvananthapuram will commence at 4:05 PM, arriving back in Kasargod at 11:55 PM. This Vande Bharat service will operate six days a week, offering convenience and accessibility to passengers. Along this picturesque route, passengers can look forward to stops at Kollam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam South, Thrissur, Shornur, Kozhikode, and Kannur stations, adding to the charm of the journey.
