Indian Institute of Technology (BHU)-Varanasi, the I-DAPT Hub Foundation will conduct the finals of national level mega event IDAPT Health-tech Hackathon on July 28 and 29 in which applications were taken from students/innovators/start-ups in the health-tech sector from all over India. After several rounds of screening, 15 teams were finally shortlisted.
This hackathon is one such step towards this goal. Such events are also supported by Technology Innovation Hub (TIH) under India’s National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical System funded by the department of science and technology.
The hackathon consists of exhibitions and interactive talk sessions from eminent speakers. The dean (R&D) Prof Vikash Kumar Dubey said that Dr Sanjay Singh, CEO and executive director, Genova Pharmaceuticals Limited, Dr Ajay Singh, assistant general manager and head - of mRNA department, Genova Pharmaceuticals Limited, Prof Sanket Goel, dean, sponsored research and consulting and founding director, Cleome Innovations, BITS Pilani are among the external invitees for this hackathon.
These teams will demonstrate their products/prototypes to the jury members and other attendees. Winners and runner-ups will get cash prizes worth Rs 1.70 lakh and free internship opportunities at IIT(BHU)-Varanasi. Apart from living demos of prototypes, the hackathon will also consist of thematic talk sessions by industry and academia experts, panel discussions, and exhibitions.
The IIT(BHU) director Prof Pramod Kumar Jain said that the institute is continuously working on the development of critical and emerging technologies in the med-tech sector.
