Recently, Varun has been promoting his film Street Dancer 3D and during the promotion of this film, he said, "As everyone knows that in the first film, Govinda and Karisma Kapoor played a very strong role. It was a very different generation environment and it is very difficult to convert it now. But we are working very hard on this. Me and Sara Ali Khan are trying our best to do what Govinda and Karisma Kapoor did."

With this, he further said, "This is not a remake of that film but we are definitely learning a lot from it".
