In the first maiden encounter of the season, Velocity won the toss and opted to field. Supernovas rised for a steady start Priya Punia and Chamari Atapatu marking a 30-run opening but two quick wickets of Punia and Jemimah Rodriguez were taken by the Velocity. After Harmanpreet’s dismissal, Supernovas lost their way ensuring 126/8. Chasing 127 to win, Velocity started bad as Dani Wyatt was sent back to pavilion in the first over. Shafali Verma scored a quickfire 17 (off 11 balls) and went back in the second over. Mithali raj also dismayed at 7 from 19 balls. But Veda Krishnamurthy and Sushma Verma joined forces and secured 63. The player of the match was given to Luus.
