Geneva: After the removal of the 'Zero Covid' policy in China, the whole world is upset due to the increase in coronavirus infection there. Meanwhile, the head of the World Health Organization has expressed concern. WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said he was "deeply concerned" about the situation in China and urged Beijing to provide detailed information about the seriousness of the situation. At the same time, WHO chief Ghebreyesus said at the weekly press conference on Wednesday, "The World Health Organization is very concerned about the emerging situation in China.''

Apart from this, he further said, 'We will continue to request China to share data and implement the study done by us. As I have said many times before, all hypotheses regarding the origin of the Covid-19 pandemic are under discussion.' In addition, the WHO chief urged China to focus its efforts on vaccinating those most at risk across the country and offered clinical care and help to save its health system.

With this, he emphasized that today we are in a much better position against the COVID-19 pandemic than a year ago when we were in the early stages of the Omicron wave with exponentially rising cases and deaths. He further added, 'But since the peak in late January, the number of weekly reported Covid-19 deaths has come down by almost 90%.' Let us also tell you that China, Japan, America, South Korea, and Brazil have seen a sudden sharp increase in the cases of coronavirus in the last week. Yes, and WHO has insisted on increasing the pace of vaccination once again to prevent this fast-growing infection across the world.
