Hyderabad, On wednesday, Veteran film actor J.V. Ramana Murthy passed away at the age of 83.

According to reports, the actor was undergoing treatment for a heart related illness and breathed his last in a corporate hospital in Hyderabad.

He made his Telugu cinema debut in the 1957 film, MLA and subsequently acted in over 150 movies including Maro Charitra, Idi Kadha Kadu and Aakali Rajyam.

Murthy became popular for essaying the role of ‘Girisam’ in the epoch-making play Kanyasulkam , Ramana Murthy garnered recognition on the stage.

Mostly appearing as a benevolent father or a temple priest when Murthy essayed character roles after starting out as a supporting hero.
