Veteran Actor Mandeep Roy passes away, Big shock to the south industry

One of the renowned actors in the south industry Mandeep Roy passes away due to a massive heart attack on Sunday morning. He was 72. He has featured in various big hits films in his career span. Mandeep was receiving medical treatment following heart attack in December at a private hospital.


Mandeep Roy has acted in over 500 films.  Mandeep’s daughter Akshatha,  said that he will be laid to be rest at Hebbal crematorium today. Mandeep Roy’s mortal remains has been kept for public viewing. The veteran star had been receiving medical treatment following a heart attack in December at a private hospital. Mandeep Roy breathed his last breath in the wee morning hours of January 29.

The veteran actor had been admitted to the Apollo Hospital at Seshadripuram in Bengaluru after he suffered a cardiac arrest just a month back.  His daughter said, “Our father had a heart attack and is being treated in the ICU. Currently, his health is improving. Our family will discuss with the doctor whether he should undergo heart surgery or a stent.” 

As soon as the news catches the eyes of people they started paying tribute to the veteran actor. Filmmaker S Shyam Prasad wrote, "Mandeep Roy was an affable person in real-life too. Would bump into him often in RPC Layout where I lived years ago. Always a happy person, he leaves behind unforgettable memories of roles he portrayed in Malgudi Days, Pushpaka Vimana and many more. Farewell."

On the career front, Mandeep Roy, who entered into the Kannada film industry with 1981. He has featured in films like Benkiya Balle, Akashmika, Yelu Suthika Kote, Geetha, Accident, Aasegobba Meesegobba, Kushi, Amrithadhare and Kurigaalu Saar Kurugaalu. He was last seen in 2021 film Auto Ramanna.
