New Delhi: After the resignation of the Congress party's most veteran leader and former CM Ghulam Nabi Azad, the party has suffered another major setback. Now Telangana Congress leader and former Rajya Sabha MP MA Khan has also resigned from the party. Khan has levelled many allegations against the Congress leadership and Rahul Gandhi. He said that Congress has completely failed to convince the people of the country that it can regain its old heritage and take the country forward as before.

In his resignation letter to the Congress leadership, Khan said that the veteran leaders of G23 had raised their voices for the welfare and well-being of Congress. However, the party leadership rejected his move and ignored his point. If the party had shown faith in those leaders (leaders of G23) and valued their words and understood their concern for the party, perhaps things would have been different today. He further said that I was associated with the party from my student life i.e. for more than 40 years.

MA Khan has said that 'Senior Congress leaders are forced to resign. The party does not take any steps toward re-energizing the grassroots workers of the high command and talks about the leadership of Pandit Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Sanjay Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, serving the country with their commitment and dedication. After seeing all this I had no other option but to leave the party. Therefore, I am giving my resignation from the primary membership of the Congress party with immediate effect.'

He told that I left the Congress because Rahul Gandhi had assumed the post of Vice President in the party committee. Things started going bad after Rahul took over as the vice-president. He has a different ideology of his own. From block level to booth level, his views do not match with any party member. Khan further said 'This is the reason why Congress is declining.' All this has now reached such an extent that all the veteran leaders of the party, who have served and empowered the party for decades, are leaving the party. Rahul does not know how to treat senior leaders. Let us inform you that along with MA Khan, many big leaders of Congress have left the party this year. Earlier, on Friday, senior leader Ghulam Nabi Azad had resigned from all posts in the Congress, including the primary membership of the party.
