Reliance-backed Viacom18 bags home the complete media rights for the women’s IPL media rights for the next 5 years. The Viacom18 has committed Rs. 951 crore for its winning bid, which implies that the value for the first-ever IPL for women will be Rs. 7.09 crore per match.

Jay Shah, secretary of the Indian Board of Control for Cricket said, "After pay equity, today's media rights bidding for the Women's IPL represents another historic mandate. It's a significant and definitive move for the advancement of women's cricket in India, ensuring that players of all ages will take part.

However, compared to a similar auction for the men's IPL media rights, the money raised by the women's IPL is insignificant. Media rights for the men's IPL were Rs. 48,390 crore from 2023 to 2027, about 50 times more than for the women's IPL. For a total of Rs. 20,500 crore, Viacom acquired the digital rights to the men's IPL 2023–27.

Prior to the WIPL, the base price has been separated into five categories, ranging from Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. 50 lakh. The auction's registration cutoff date is January 26.
