Vice President 'Hamid Ansari' confident about the future of hockey in India

VP Hamid Ansari on Saturday communicated idealism about a splendid future for the amusement in the nation at the introduction of Biju Patnaik Rural Hockey Championship here.

"The round of hockey has surely a splendid future. Never at any point, I had seen such overpowering reaction to a competition and huge social event of players at a setting of a title," Ansari said at the inaugural function at Dilip Tirkey Sports Foundation.

Taking note of that hockey is instilled somewhere down in the life of the general population in this district, the Vice-President said "I am truly inspired by the sort of reaction this competition has gotten. The diversion is the spirit as well as has nearness in the pani and hawa (environment) here."

"I have met Olympians every now and then however never got the chance to meet such a large number of at one place and I am grateful," he said.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik said hockey has dependably conveyed pride to Odisha and the competition is another expansion.

MP and Olympian Dilip Tirkey talked about the goal of the competition.'It won't just discover talents, however, will likewise help in producing enthusiasm among the young to take after the amusement. Or more all it will convince the young to get hockey and not the weapon," he said.
