Nagpur: In Nagpur, Maharashtra, the police have arrested such thieves, who used to come to Nagpur from Odisha to carry out the incident. The police have recovered goods worth Rs 38 lakh including 951 grams of gold from the criminals. According to the police, the two together have carried out 16 incidents of theft in Nagpur city.
According to the police, incidents of theft in Nagpur city, including Jaripatka, Pratapnagar and Beltarodi among others, had increased significantly in the last few days. The police were disturbed by the increasing incidents that suddenly they received a Tahrir from the informer. The informer told the police that in the Trimurti Nagar area of the city late at night a person was going on the road carrying a black bag. On receiving the complaint, the police reached the spot and took the boy carrying the bag into custody and started interrogation.
The man said that he comes to Nagpur from Odisha to steal with his partner. After completing the incident, he goes back to Odisha. There is a distance of about 840 km between these two cities. Meaning both used to travel 1680 kms due to stealing in Nagpur and then returning back to Bhubaneshwar. The police have arrested another accomplice of a criminal on the spot. The names of the arrested criminals are Prashant Kumar and Shrikant Shetty. Both the criminals are residents of Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha. According to DCP Lohit Matani, Prashant Kumar is a notorious criminal and has committed theft in other states as well. Earlier on May 20, Nagpur Police arrested a thief who looted money on his girlfriend. The Sitabardi police of Nagpur had arrested the criminal Rishabh alias Lalu Shyam. He was 28 years old and he was a resident of Nagpur only. Rishabh had told the police that he used to mortgage stolen vehicles and told that his father was suffering from cancer. He is in dire need of money. As soon as he got the money, he used to spend that money on his girlfriend and used to indulge in debauchery.
