From Kanpur to Mahakal, know Vikas Dubey's encounter story

Vikas Dubey, the prime accused in the Kanpur shootout in Uttar Pradesh, was dramatically apprehended yesterday in the Mahakal temple premises in Ujjain and then in the evening, he was handed over to the STF team in Kanpur, where Vikas tried to flee as the vehicle overturned on the way. Vikas Dubey died in police encounter.

Vikas reached the Mahakal temple in Ujjain on 9 July. Where he asked information about Mahakal Darshan from the flower seller. During this time the flower man suspected him and informed the police about it. Vikas paid Rs 250 for Mahakal Darshan and then he entered the premises. During this, the security guard also doubted him. Police and temple guards later tracked him down and arrested him as soon as he came out. After being arrested, Vikas shouted that 'I am Vikas Dubey from Kanpur'. After the arrest on 9 July, Vikas is taken to the police station and he is questioned for 8 hours. Vikas made many revelations in this. In the evening, MP police handed over Vikas to the STF team.

UP's STF team left for Kanpur by road with Vikas Dubey. Though the vehicle overturned on the way and Vikas tried to escape by snatching weapons from the police, but in response police fired on Vikas. He was taken to the hospital and doctors declared him dead.
