Two more senior leaders of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee have said goodbye to the Congress. The Congress has received this blow after Usman Majeed and Shoaib Lone left the party. The party's district Jammu rural chief Vikram Malhotra and former minister Manjit Singh have resigned from Congress. Both leaders have sent their resignations to the party's state head GA Mir on Friday. Vikram Malhotra's father Amrit Malhotra has been a senior Congress leader and former chairman of the Legislative Council in East Jammu and Kashmir.

Vikram Malhotra had also contested from Jammu East Assembly seat since 2014 and lost. Manjit Singh has left three parties before this. He was earlier associated with Bahujan Samaj Party and later joined PDP. When the former PDP-Congress coalition government came into existence in the year 2002, then Manjit Singh was made the Minister of State. He later joined the Congress. These two leaders have prepared to join the new political party to be formed under the leadership of former minister Altaf Bukhari, who was separated from PDP. When Vikram Malhotra was asked the reason for leaving the Congress, he said that the Congress is completely stuck in confusion at this time.

On this matter, he alleged that the Congress was following the path of the National Conference. The Congress is more concerned about getting Omar Abdullah released. He may join the leadership of Altaf Bukhari. Manjit Singh could not be reached there. According to sources, Manjit Singh has sent his resignation from the Congress to the state head.
