Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a series of projects valued at over Rs 1330 crore during his visit to South Goa. Participating in the 'Viksit Bharat, Viksit Goa 2047' program, Modi inaugurated and laid foundation stones for several initiatives.

Among the highlights was the inauguration of the permanent campus of the National Institute of Technology Goa. This new campus boasts a range of facilities including tutorial, departmental, seminar, and administrative complexes, along with hostels, a health center, staff quarters, sports grounds, and more, all aimed at serving the needs of students, faculty, and staff.

Additionally, Modi dedicated the new campus of the National Institute of Watersports, which will offer 28 specialized courses to promote watersports and water rescue activities for both the public and the armed forces.

In a move towards environmental sustainability, the Prime Minister inaugurated a 100 TPD Integrated Waste Management Facility in South Goa. This facility is designed to handle both wet and dry waste scientifically, supplemented by a 500 KW solar power plant generating surplus electricity.

Modi also laid the foundation stone for a Passenger Ropeway linking Panaji and Reis Magos, with plans for associated tourism activities. Furthermore, he initiated the construction of a 100 MLD Water Treatment Plant in South Goa.

As part of efforts to boost employment, Modi distributed appointment orders to 1930 new government recruits at the Rozgar Mela and handed over sanction letters to beneficiaries of various welfare schemes.
