Jammu: Altaf Ahmed Shah alias Altaf Fantush, son-in-law of Hurriyat Conference leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani, was given Rs 5 crore to continue the protests in the Kashmir Valley after the killing of Burhan Wani. The rupees were given by Waheed ur Rehman Para, PDP leader and close to former Jammu and Kashmir CM Mehbooba Mufti. The media report says that the National Investigation Agency has disclosed this in a recently filed charge sheet in a special court.

Poster Boy Burhan Wani of terrorist organization Hizbul Mujahideen was killed in 2016. In January, Para was detained by the National Investigation Agency for his alleged links with banned terrorist organizations such as Hizbul Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Taiba. Shah is already in judicial custody after being detained by the NIA in July 2017 for his involvement in the racket of providing funds to separatists and terrorist groups in Jammu and Kashmir.

The charge sheet states that the mercury was in the contact of Ahmed Shah after Wani was killed in an encounter in July 2016 and asked him to decide that the Kashmir Valley should remain completely disturbed. Stoning and violence should occur on a large scale. Mercury, through his advocate, is denying these faults, claiming that he was detained for political reasons. After this, the court granted bail to him for not being named in the supplementary charge sheet. Subsequently, he was again detained by the Counter Intelligence Wing in Kashmir and has been in jail since then.
