Actor-comedian Veer Das has been a part of the spotlight since his anti-India statement in the US recently. He has been trolled by many people. Not only that, his statement has led to complaints lodged against him in many parts of the country. Now amidst all this, Veer has responded to the whole controversy. Recently, he said, 'The big headline - "I am here to do my job and will continue to do it." I will not stop. My job is to make people laugh and if you don't find it strange, don't laugh, I haven't faced any censorship till date. He further said in his statement, "We need more comedy clubs in India to make people laugh and spread love."
You must be aware that Veer Das had mentioned about two parts of India at a show held at the John F. Kennedy Centre recently. During that time, he had read a poem called 'Two Indias' there. He uploaded a part of his video on the YouTube channel and on the same video, social media users say he has insulted India by going abroad.
What was in Veer's poem- In fact, in his poem, Veer had said, 'I come from an India where AQI is 9000, but we still lie on our roofs and see stars at night. I come from India where we worship women during the day and gangrape at night. I come from an India where you can hear our laughter from across the walls of our house and I also come from an India that breaks the walls of a comedy club when there is a sound of laughter from inside it. I come from an India where we feel proud to be vegetarians but crush the same farmers who grow these vegetables. I come from an India that never shuts up and I come from an India that never speaks.'
