Sanjay Dutt's biopic is special for many people. Also the film means a lot to director of film Rajkumar Hirani as his son Vir Rajkumar Hirani turns assistant director for the biopic on Sanjay Dutt starring Ranbir Kapoor as Sanju Baba. 

Reveals the source, "Rajkumar was surprised when his teenage son mentioned he wanted to join him on the film. That’s because, for his first film, which he made with his friends all aged under 16, Vir had done the editing, writing and directing by himself. He hadn’t asked for any help from his father. So, he always thought that when Vir would be ready to start assisting, he would ask his advice as to whom he should begin with. When Vir expressed his wish to assist him, Raju took him as the junior most assistant of him. In fact, he is an assistant to the assistant directors. Vir gives the claps, does the markings a place where Ranbir should be seated for a particular shot he goes and sits there, etc. He is not treated any differently because he is the Hirani’s son."
