On the second day of the World Test Championship final against New Zealand, the Indian cricket team came out to bat on the field with a black bandage on their arms in honour of flying Sikh Milkha Singh. You may recall that Milkha Singh passed away five days after his wife passed away.

Milkha Singh completed the last race of her life in her signature style with a blazer and a red turban. He had a picture of his wife Nirmal Kaur on his lap. On the last journey of his life, Milkha Singh was accompanied by his wife Nirmal Kaur and former India opener Virendra Sahwah also looked emotional as he watched the scene. He recently shared a picture of Milkha Singh and with this picture he said, "Milkha Singh ji passed away 5 days after his wife's death." In his tweet, he writes, "His wife's photo is in his hands during his last visit. He is going to live with his beloved Nirmal Kaur ji. Flying Sikhs will celebrate this life in the coming years.''

Nirmal Kaur was a player in the Indian women's volleyball team. Milkha Singh and Nirmal Kaur got married in 1962. Both have three daughters and a son. Son Jeev Milkha Singh is a famous golfer.
