Vizag: On Sunday, December 4, the Indian Navy will celebrate Navy Day with a number of seafaring experiences in Vizag to honour the success of Operation Trident during the 1971 War.

This year, the chief guest on Navy Day will be President Droupadi Murmu, who also serves as the supreme commander of the armed forces.

At the RK Beach locality, the Chief of Naval Staff, Union ministers, and senior Navy officials from different areas of the nation will observe the maritime, aviation, and onshore capabilities of the Indian Naval personnel.

After two dismal Navy Days in Vizag because of the Covid-19 pandemic, this year's celebration, which falls on December 4, is anticipated to be a huge spectacle. The Eastern Naval Command (ENC), Western Naval Command (WNC), and Southern Naval Command (SNC) are expected to participate with more than 15 ships and more than 25 aircraft.

According to a senior naval officer from ENC, one of the unique attractions for Navy Day would be flares fired by fighter aircraft MIG-29K from WNC over Vizag's extensive coastline to simulate a war situation.

The "Operational Demonstration" Op Demo's practise session took place on November 30 and December 2. On Sunday, thousands of people will converge on RK Beach for the grand finale. He said, the Op Demo will demonstrate the prowess and adaptability of Indian Naval ships, submarines, aviation, and Special Forces.

Between 2 pm to 8 pm on Sunday, no general vehicles will be permitted along the stretch of road from The Park Hotel Junction to the NTR Statue on the RK Beach Road.
